Introduction

Introduction
In a pevious experiment ( S-234 ) it could be shown that Malus domestica stem cell extract of epidermal progenitor cells. In this experiment this effect is further investigated using 3D models.

Primary keratinocytes are cultured in a medium specially designed to mimick the microviroment of the adult stem cell niche. This medium ( M1 ) enchances the growth of progenitor cell.After incubation.M1 is replace by M2, a medium that together with primary human keratinocytes establishes 3D epidermal models which accurately represent the in vivo structure
Assay
Early passage ( "New" ) keratinovyte progenitor cells and late passage ( "Old" ) cells are cultured in the presence or absence of 0.01% Malus domestica stem cell extract in order to see if "old" cellsmaintain the ability to build 3D models if they were cultured in 0.01% Malus domestica stem cell extract.
Result
The result show that 0.01% Malus domestica stem cell extract significantly increases the ability of late passage keratinoscytes to esthabish 3D models.whereas-treated late passage cells formed a model which was indistinguishable from the control cells.
